St. Joseph’s Center is looking for dedicated and caring individuals who are compassionate about early learning to fill the role of Teachers (Group Supervisors) for our new daycare, Blessings Children’s Learning Center. The ideal candidate will get to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities in early learning to create a supportive and educational environment to ensure the health, growth, development, and safety of the children in your care.
These Teacher positions are full-time working with children infant to 3 years old.
Blessings Children's Learning Center operates Monday-Friday 6am-6pm

What You Will Do
Essential functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Work as a team with the co-teacher in the room. Classroom responsibilities are to be handled equally.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth in accordance with program philosophy.
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom and outdoor activities based on developmentally appropriate practices by using provided curriculum as a guide and following PA early learning standards.
- Actively engage children and participate in activities.
- Generate Progress reports and teacher conferences.
- Communicate needs of children to the director.
- Ensure and follow all policies, procedures and regulations that govern the program including DHS and Keystone Stars.
- Ensure active supervision of children at all times of the day.
- Understand and follow emergency procedures and how to implement them (emergency preparedness plan – will be provided to you during orientation).
- Ensure a healthy classroom and outdoor environment-including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards to protect the children and staff against infectious/communicable diseases in accordance with regulations.
What’s Required of You
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or another Human Services field.
- 2 years of experience working with children in a similar role
- 2 written personal references (non -family)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
