Nursing Responsibilities
- Utilizing the Nursing Process, plans, directs and supervises the care of patients in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.
- Education, Training, Experience, Certification And Licensure - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
- Special Equipment, Skills Or Other Requirements - All services, medical staff, patients, visitors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.
Career Advancement
- Advancement to Level II and Level III after experience and clinical performance demonstrates ability to meet criteria.
- Advancement to coordinator or management positions if experience and clinical performance demonstrates ability to meet criteria.
General Performance Criteria
- Utilizes Nursing Process:~ nursing care of designated patient populations. Plans and implements nursing interventions.
- Collects Data In a Comprehensive Manner:~ Augments initial nursing assessment data with experiential knowledge to refine patient care plan.~ significant others to make nursing decisions. Compiles, interprets and incorporates laboratory data into the plan of care of the patient.
- Collaborates Using a Multi-disciplinary Approach To Patient Care: General Performance Criteria: Communicates patient outcomes to other health team members. Initiates proactive nursing interventions which reflect assessment skills that Evaluates nursing interventions in relationship to patient outcomes.
Professional And Staff Development
- Participates in clinical supervision.
- Reviews with the orientee and student the outcomes of nursing Attends staff meetings.
Supervision, Delegation And Coordination
- Supervises the practice and care of LPN's and other allied health care members. Demonstrates awareness, provides input for unit goal and Coordinates activities for a designated patient population/unit for a given shift.
- Presents a positive unit and nursing image when communicating with other departments, services, units and physicians.
