What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler - OR position at St. Josephs Medical Center?
JOB SUMMARY : Schedules patients for outpatient tests and procedures within the facility (SJMC).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Answer calls coming into the office within three rings, directs call to the appropriate staff and attempts to assist every caller.
- Assist in development of processes and systems related to the New Start patient scheduling surgery.
- Maintain timely patient callbacks as directed by program coordinators.
- Complete basic clerical duties to include computer data entry, filing, typing, mailings and proof reading, as it relates to this position.
- Assist program coordinator in retrieving medical records and various other information needed to schedule patients for surgery.
- Assist in education / in-service to patient and fellow staff.
- This individual to schedule all SPH New Start surgeries and their pre-op testing.
- Act as a liaison between the physician, coordinator, hospital staff and the patient.
- Inservice and participate in program seminars as is dictated by marketing / advertising activity.
- Provide support to Program Coordinator as deemed necessary when out of the office.
- Pertinent other duties as deemed necessary.
