Description
St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers is seeking a Patient Advocate for our Richman Park Health Center in Fullerton. Our Patient Advocates are responsible for facilitating patient access to high-quality health care services by processing applications for health insurance via Covered California, Medi-Cal, the St. Jude Neighborhood Centers’ sliding fee scale program, and local hospitals' charity care applications.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate listener with a strong desire to serve others; must be organized and have a keen attention for small details. The position requires fluency in English and Spanish. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 am to 5pm.
Requirements
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
License/ Certifications:
Certified Enrollment Counselor with Covered California, is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an ambulatory or hospital financial counseling.
Minimum 2 years in direct or by phone customer service.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish without an interpreter.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Professional and mature demeanor.
Excellent customer service skills via directly and by phone.
Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Salary : $22 - $25
