SUMMARY
Drives bus to transport students over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES currently include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Follows daily bus schedule and daily bus changes.
- Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for comfort.
- Complies with local traffic regulations.
- Reports delays or accidents.
- Makes minor repairs, changes tires and reports needs for maintenance.
- Inspects bus and checks gas, oil, and water before departure and conducts pre-trip inspection.
- Enforces bus rules.
- Communicates bus rule violations to school principal.
- Communicates with parents and community members in a positive manner and reports all concerns.
- Cleans bus after every route.
- Plugs in bus when temperature is 20 degrees or under.
- Keeps bus locked/supervised during school hours.
- Request winter items needed and is responsible for: ice melt in bottle, scraper, shovel, electric cord.
- Check seats for damage.
- Must assign seats for students and reports student discipline and violation of rules.
