The Family Court of St. Louis County is hiring for a Human Resource Generalist II in the Human Resources Department.
Range 10 $48,048 - $72,092. This position is eligible for the 10% addition to pay effective January 12, 2020.

An employee in this job class and position is responsible for performing professional and technical duties of moderate difficulty in support of the Human Resource Department. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources and involves the direct responsibility for the Family Court payroll processing and approval, maintenance of personnel files, and serves as a liaison with the County Retirement/Benefits Office. Work is reviewed through periodic supervisory conferences, reports submitted, and achievement of stated goals.
Examples of Duties
Coordinates the open enrollment, new hire onboarding, and change of benefits for the Family Court employees with the County HR office.
Answers questions from employees and provides them with reference materials related to benefits, policy, and various other subjects.
Produces and reviews all monthly performance appraisal and education notices and distributes to supervisors.
Maintains personnel files for current and past employees, answers employment verifications and processes all personnel actions.
Prepares and distributes reports and prepares general correspondence.
Reports on progress related to compensation matters and reports to the department on progress; acts as a liaison with the family court and the Risk Management Office or worker’s compensation provider.
Assists in gathering information for special reports and projects as requested.
Types simple forms, letters, and other documents form plain copy, rough draft or from information at hand; composes correspondence about changes in County benefit information and payroll programs.
Supports the recruitment and selection process for all civil service (merit) clerical staff. Supports the onboarding for all non-merit hiring.
Supports the county new hire process through coordination during onboarding. Orientates new employees and explains County benefits and Family Court policy.
Distributes employee evaluation notices and processes increases or change in status as a result of the evaluation.
Performs Family Care Safety Registry screenings on all potential employees prior to hire.

All applicants conditionally offered a permanent part-time, full-time, term or on-call position will be required to submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be paid by the County. St. Louis County offers its employees many excellent benefits with paid medical insurance, 20 days of PTO (paid time off) the first year and increasing with seniority, and 11-12 paid holidays. Employees hired for full time employment will participate in the St. Louis County retirement plan where they contribute 4% of their salary to the defined benefit plan with vesting after 7 years. In addition to these benefits, as of January 1, 2023, St. Louis County approved up to 480 hours of paid parental leave for eligible employees welcoming new children, either by birth or adoption.
