POSITION OVERVIEW
The Building Stabilization Program Specialist will represent our core values of strategic partnership and work with department/agency partners to support project management, documentation, and reporting for building stabilization projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Research and document property conditions, history, and community context
- Provide project management data entry, tracking, and reporting
- Support building stabilization inspectors with site visits and photo documentation
- Work with the Building Division, Problem Properties, the Planning and Urban Design Agency, the Mayor’s Office, and community organizations to identify important buildings
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Project manage multiple properties while ensuring all documentation is properly labeled, dated, stored, and accessible to participating departments/agencies
- Operate spreadsheet/database management applications (i.e., Microsoft and Google applications) and City software programs
- Organize and prioritize workload to ensure effective workflow and response to deadlines
- Become familiar with all aspects of City Departments programs and services in order to facilitate more extensive services as needed
- Understand, interpret, explain, and apply relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
- Work independently in a very fast paced environment
- Must be knowledgeable about the Economic Justice Action Plan three pillars
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Community Development, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Economic Development, or a related field
- At least 2 years working experience with local government, project or database management, and/or building inspection or construction
- Proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with general data management and reporting tools; comfortable learning new software programs
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Requires valid driver's license – community/development/neighborhood visits
- Must be able to travel

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This a full-time, exempt position with health benefits and paid-time-off. While our traditional work hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, SLDC provides a flexible/hybrid work environment of both onsite and offsite work and follows a customized work schedule of 40-hours per week for full-time employees. Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
