Position Overview: The Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at the public pool. This entry-level position involves overseeing the pool area, assisting pool guests, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The Pool Attendant plays an important role in providing an enjoyable experience for all swimmers while helping to enforce pool rules and regulations.Key Responsibilities:
Guest Assistance & Customer Service
- Greet guests as they enter the pool area, providing helpful information regarding pool rules, hours of operation, and other amenities.
- Answer guest inquiries and assist with concerns or requests promptly and courteously.
- Assist in the registration of swimmers for swim lessons, ensuring all forms and necessary documentation are completed accurately.
- Collect payment for swim lessons, pool passes, and other services, following facility procedures for cash handling and electronic transactions.
- Provide receipts and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating swim lessons, ensuring that all participants are informed of lesson times and requirements.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times, fostering a positive environment for pool visitors.
- Observe pool activities and report any unsafe behavior or potential hazards to the appropriate staff.
- Assist in maintaining crowd control around the pool area during busy times.
- Work closely with lifeguards and other pool attendants to monitor the pool area and guest needs.
- Provide support to management with various operational tasks as needed, including setting up/breaking down pool equipment, preparing for pool events or maintenance schedules.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands of this position include standing for extended periods of time, walking throughout the pool area, bending, kneeling, and lifting light equipment or trash containers. The Pool Attendant must be able to perform tasks that may involve exposure to sunlight, water, and occasional temperature fluctuations. The role also requires the ability to interact with guests in a busy and dynamic environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND WORK HAZARDS: The Pool Attendant typically works in an outdoor pool environment, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, including sun, rain, and heat. This position involves working near water, and the attendant must be vigilant about potential slip or trip hazards. Proper safety protocols and equipment will be provided to mitigate risk. Employees must be aware of the potential for exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals.

- No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided. Prior retail or customer service experience would be helpful for this role.

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- CPR and First Aid certifications are required within 30 days of employment; training course is provided.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING: This position requires a physical, drug testing, driver's license verification and level 2 background screening which includes fingerprinting.
