Overview
St. Luke’s Health System seeks a Senior Attorney to join our Legal team to support the clinically and financially integrated network of providers, St. Luke's Health Partners.
This role will provide high-level legal support through advising and guiding St. Luke’s Health Partners in various transformational initiatives that will complement and achieve St. Luke’s Health System strategic goals. Key priorities include advising on network strategies and goals, advising on network structure that meets state and federal requirements, and guiding contract negotiation and strategy.
Beyond the required 10 years of relevant experience, preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with clinically and financially integrated networks
- Experience with anti-trust laws
- Understanding of value-based care
- Understanding of Medicaid Managed Care
Responsibilities
- Responsible in coordination with General Counsel and others for management of legal department.
- Handles both complex and general legal matters within area(s) of expertise.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and acts as a resource to other in-house attorneys and legal team members.
- Protects company rights in contract negotiations, settlement, and litigation.
- Responsible for defense of company in cases of litigation.
- Assesses and ensures the organization operates in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Responsible in coordination with General Counsel for performance management for legal staff members.
- Leads and directs the work of other legal staff members.
- Responsible in coordination with General Counsel for budget management.
- Coordinates and oversees outside legal resources for St. Luke's Health System and its subsidiaries.
- Advises the board(s) and leadership on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Advanced Degree: J.D. or LL.M.
- Experience: 10 years of relevant experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must be a member of the Idaho Bar within one year.
