Trauma Program Registrar

Rate: $25 - $30 per hour

Position Summary:

The Trauma Registry Specialist is responsible for maintaining and completing current and accurate Trauma Registry (inpatient, outpatient trauma patient) databases, which contain patient-care information from the following phases of care: pre-hospital, emergency room, hospital course, and final outcome. Completed work and decisions made are not reviewed when performed within established departmental guidelines. Maintains an active role as a Trauma Team member. Actively participates in the Performance Improvement/Patient Safety process. Maintain and obtain certifications as defined by the trauma program.

Position Qualifications:

Education/Training :

1. 1. 1. Ability to read, write and communicate in English
      2. College course work in a medical field of expertise, such as nursing, health information administration, or related fields related to data entry, analysis or desirable
      3. Completion of the Trauma Registry Course
      4. Completion of Trauma One Educational Modules
      5. ICD 10 course

Experience:

1. 1. 1. Experience with medical records and abstracting data required
      2. Experience in determining applicable procedures and response time as would typically be accomplished in at least 1 year as Trauma Registry Specialist
      3. Experience in quality management preferred
      4. Experience with ICD 10 Code preferred
      5. Experience use Microsoft excel, Teams, Microsoft word etc.

Licensure, Registration or Certification:

1. 1. 1. Certified Trauma Registrar Preferred
      2. CAISS preferred
