What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Analyst position at St Margaret of Scotland Episcopal?
The Desktop Support Analyst for St. Margaret’s Episcopal School reports to the IT Manager, and is a the primary support for Apple Equipment, including the Middle School iPad Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Collaboration with the IT team to provide a reliable, safe, and supportive educational technology environment for the St. Margaret’s community
- Provide primary point of support for Apple equipment, particularly student issued iPads and employee Macbooks
- iOS with Mosyle and MacOS deployment/setup with InTune
- Provide support for basic Windows laptops and desktops (basic troubleshooting, Zoom, Adobe suite, peripherals)
- Assist with computer imaging, network monitoring, basic cybersecurity training
- Work with the other members of the Tech Team to provide desktop and printer/copier support for the oncampus professional community, teachers and students
- Serve as backup event support with basic audiovisual skills (e.g. Zoom broadcast, microphone, slideshow)
- Flexibility and adaptability to learn school and classroom specialty software/apps and content filters
- Respond to afterhour emergencies affecting the entire campus and assist with any immediate mitigation if necessary
- Other IT support duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Essential understanding and experience in the deployment and support of Apple consumer computer equipment
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service to employees, teachers, parents and students of all ages
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- 23 years experience in the installation, operation and software maintenance of desktop computer equipment, particularly Apple products
- 25 years experience in customer support
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Zendesk, Teamviewer and/or similar IT support and ticketing systems
- School IT support experience
- Basic consumer security measures (e.g. antivirus, phishing prevention, etc.)
- Experience with Mosyle deployment software
- Basic networking knowledge, especially with Cisco equipment
