Director of Nursing Services
Job Description: The Director of Nursing leads the clinical team to ensure the highest level of nursing caring is delivered to the elders that live in our community. The Director of Nursing is responsible for leading, motivating, and monitoring nursing staff, nursing activities, and patient care, as well as ensuring activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
The Director of Nursing is the highest point of clinical decision making in our community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse License
- 3-4 years in Geriatric nursing or an acute care setting
- Critical Thinker
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Systems driven
- Knowledge of computers and electronic health records
- Attention to detail
- Ability to teach
Responsibilities:
- Work with physicians and extenders to execute the highest level of clinical services.
- Lead clinicians in the execution of all clinical programs.
- Manage by walking around.
- Lead the inter disciplinary team.
- General oversight of all major clinical pathways to help identify areas of training need and Quality Assurance.
- Participate in physician rounds
- Participate in interviews to select clinical team members
- Identify, train, and teach nurses and nursing assistants
- Oversight of clinical operations and developing care plans
- Various Clinical Audits
- Create a teaching environment
- Establish and evaluate clinical systems to ensure most effective, efficient and current practices are in place.
- Lead Infection Control Program for community
- All other duties as assigned
