DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

The Director of Technology reports directly to the Head of School and is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure for the school and church. This individual provides vision and leadership in developing and implementing information technology initiatives in support of the organization’s mission, curriculum and strategic goals.
The Director of Technology is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, monitoring, and evaluation of the technology program, including all hardware, software, and telecommunications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all facets of technology operations, ranging from planning, budgeting, purchasing, installation, systems administration, data security, data backup, and emergency recovery plans. Scope of operations includes school, church, theater and remote campus. The successful candidate will:
- Work with technical staff and contractors to plan, design, manage and support all infrastructure, networking, telecommunications and software
- Work with technical staff and contractors to oversee network and system administration, including servers, network, and phone system
- Manage the purchase, installation and maintenance of fleet of 900 PC, Mac, Chromebook and iOS devices, including a 1:1 device program for K-8
- Manage the purchase, installation and maintenance of classroom equipment, including SMART boards, projectors, document cameras, printers, and classroom audio
- Maintain life safety systems, including alarms, visitor management and surveillance cameras
- Ensure the secure operation and efficient performance of all IT systems and networks
- Ensure that all technology equipment is serviced and repaired in a timely manner
- Develop long-range technology plan and budget that aligns with the school's mission, goals and objectives
- Research and evaluate new technologies, products and services to position the school at the forefront of the changing nature of private, independent education
- Manage software licensing, renewal, installation, account provisioning, identity management and password enforcement
- Manage Active Directory and Google Workspace domains
- Set up and assist with in-person and virtual presentations
- Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures for the acceptable use of all technology assets
- Maintain inventory of all fixed technology assets
- Serve as first responder for emergencies, hazardous weather and after-hour needs

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT management
- Experience in K-12 education environment
- Extensive knowledge of networks, systems, telecommunications, computer hardware, database administration and common software applications
- Experience with Active Directory and Google Workspace administration
- Experience with FACTS or related SIS desired
- Experience with computer coding and website development desired
- Experience with theater, audio/visual and livestreaming desired
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Strong project management skills and ability to plan, organize, and manage programs and projects
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
- Ability to train educators in the use of hardware and software to meet necessary technology competencies
- Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm, deliberate and tactful in stressful and emotional situations

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
