What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard position at ST MARK VILLAGE?
We are currently looking for the following positions:

Overview:
Guard facility and property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the necessary duties as assigned. Assist Maintenance Department by performing general maintenance duties as assigned. Blood and body fluids exposure: Category II
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Keeps confidential all information not specifically authorized to be given to others.
- Patrols buildings and grounds of facility.
- Examines all exterior doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Warns violators of rule infractions such as; loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and calls Police [911] for persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as; fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Sounds the fire alarm in case of fire or smoke.
- Calls Police [911] by telephone in case of fire or for removal of unauthorized persons.
- Permits authorized persons to enter property
- Responds to all emergency situations.
- Fills out reports in detail on occupants falling, vehicle accidents or incidents in parking lots, theft, or other serious incidents.
- Notifies Supervisors immediately in the event of death of a Resident in an apartment before the body is removed. Then, phones the Executive Director or the Pastor. Places all valuables in a sealed and signature witnessed envelope on which articles have been described and listed. After the Funeral Home has been notified and the body removed, places a key block on the door of the apartment (if it is a single occupancy) and logs same in Manager’s office.
- Places key block on apartment door (if it is a single occupancy) when Resident is sent to the Hospital. Regulates vehicle parking and pedestrian traffic at facility to maintain orderly flow.
- Makes themselves available for additional duties from Switchboard and/or Maintenance.
- General maintenance work tickets are to be done as assigned and submitted to the Manager upon completion at the end of the shift.
- Repairs minor problems with plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, gardening, painting and carpet and tile maintenance.
- Moves furniture, equipment and appliances for Residents or Staff as assigned.
- Removes trash from compact room to area in back of garage and replace with empty compact container.
- Replaces ceiling tiles where needed.
- Changes light bulbs in and out of the building.
- Installs temporary patches on water supply leaks and waste lines.
- Changes and cleans A/C filters and vents.
- Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings and trim of building.
- Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
- Observes and follows safety policies and procedures.
- Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures.
- Attend all mandatory in-services as required.
- Demonstrates positive guest relations to internal and external staff, visitors and family members.
- Maintains good working relationships and team work between all department and co-workers.
- Team Members are required to report to their Department Director all incidents of actual or possible abuse of a Resident that they become aware of. Abuse in this respect includes, but is not limited to, verbal, sexual, physical, and/or mental abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, neglect, and/or any misappropriation of property concerning St. Mark Village Residents. Team Members will make the report as soon as possible after they become aware of the incident of actual or possible abuse.
- May be assigned other related duties and responsibilities as required by Maintenance Manager or Director.
REQUIRED SKILL, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class D Security License highly desirable.
