Performs a variety of manual tasks to maintain County grounds, Parks, structures and public landings; performs other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Responsible for maintaining County owned facilities, parks, public landings, which includes the cleaning of restrooms.2. May: • cut grass and maintain turf;• repair and operate irrigation systems;• maintain and repair various equipment;• assist in construction/maintaining of roads and walkways;• operate trucks, tractors, power equipment and tools;• finish interior and exterior walls by washing, sanding, painting, etc.• prepare for special county events;• perform other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
1. Ability to gain working knowledge of St. Mary’s County Government policies and procedures;2. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and various types of equipment such as tractor,power auger, blower, etc.;3. Knowledge of safety regulations and established procedures for operating equipment aswell as for ensuring public safety;4. Basic knowledge of machinery and vehicle maintenance;5. Basic math and language skills.
