Video/Media Specialist
St. Mary's Episcopal Church seeks a video/media specialist who will enjoy working within our unique culture. There is NO requirement regarding religious affiliation.

The successful applicant for this part-time position will work closely with a small tech team and will be supervised by one of our pastors. The primary job responsibility will be pre-, live-, and post-production of our Sunday morning worship service. Other events and/or special services may be assigned as appropriate/needed, subject to availability.
Training is available.
Job Responsibilities
Our service is available in our sanctuary at 10a every Sunday. In addition, the service uses Zoom, and is re-streamed (live) using OSB to FaceBook and Twitch. A screen in the sanctuary is visible to worshippers, and much of the Zoom feed is visible there.
Pre-production
- Thursday morning rehearsal
- Create lower thirds, PowerPoint slides, and other materials necessary for live-production
- Plan camera angles, switches, etc. for live-production
- Along with team, recognize potential problems and possibilities for quality improvement
- Participate in problem-solving and evaluating alternative technologies to achieve high quality product
- Periodically evaluate the product and the process
- Manage workflow to meet daily and weekly timelines, working ahead when possible
- Clearly communicate pertinent questions, difficulties, and needs
Live-production
- Establish and manage Zoom meeting and re-streaming links
- Operate/manage 7 installed cameras during the service
- Manage sanctuary screen and Zoom feed
- Communicate clearly with sound engineer, pastors, and other participants as needed
- Make note of pertinent questions, difficulties, and needs to be addressed at tech meeting
Post-production
- Prepare/edit service video
- Upload prepared video to Vimeo
- Podcast - Edit/prepare audio feed for podcast, upload to podcast.co
- Manage files as appropriate
- Clearly communicate pertinent questions, difficulties, and needs

Working Hours Benefits
- Approximately 7 -12 hours/week on site, typically Thursday mornings (9:00 -11:00) and Sundays (9:00a – 1:30p)

Skills Qualifications
The primary task of producing weekly video requires significant ongoing attention to detail, flexibility, and problem-solving. A fair degree of creativity and an eye for visual appeal is a bonus. A person who enjoys detailed work, tolerates changes well, and takes pleasure in creating visually and auditorily pleasing video will flourish in this job.
