What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at St. Mary's Eye & Surgery Center?
St. Mary's Eye & Surgery Center, located in Flushing(136-33 37th Ave) NY and
Palisades Park(540 Bergen Blvd) NJ is looking for an ophthalmic technicians to work full-time.
Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performs initial patient screening and examination per the physician's instructions, which may include taking down the patient's principal complaint, history of current illness, allergies, current medication, and medical history.
- Perform various tests for ophthalmology patients. Required skills and tests include: dilation, pressures, fundus photos, and performing a variety of tests including visual fields, OCT, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography.
- Regularly maintains stock in the exam room in accordance with established protocols and individual physician preferences.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates/Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
- Certification(Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Medical Assistant) (Preferred)
- Bilingual Korean is a plus
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed

After 3 months probation, full-time employees are eligible for medical insurance, paid time off and paid holidays. After 1 year, they are eligible for 401k and profit sharing.
