Nursery Attendant

Qualifications:

• Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4
• At least 18 years of age
• Satisfactory completion of background check and Child Abuse Prevention Training
• Current on Tuberculin and other immunizations
• Possess a current CPR and First Aide Certificate
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, consisting of Sunday morning and some Wednesday evening shifts, including occasionally filling in as needed

Duties:

• Responsible for providing age appropriate care which includes feeding, changing diapers, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. Universal precautions should always be used while changing diapers or dealing with body fluids.
• Remain attentive to all children under your care and maintain accountability.
• Properly sign-in and sign-out children in accordance with church policies.
• Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
• Be ready to accept children at least 15 minutes before any given event is set to start.
• Straighten the room and clean any toys/beds before leaving. All toys that have had contact with saliva will require special attention.
• Report to supervisor any issues which are hindering the carrying out of the duties or responsibilities.
• Communicate in advance, by phone, to supervisor: 1) any planned absences with an advance two-week notice, or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.
• Do additional tasks as assigned.

Conditions of employment:
