Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Piper Center for Vocation and Career is seeking a Content and Communications Specialist to develop and update a number of web pages and create other communications content in preparation for the academic year. The position is part time and seasonal: 20-35 hours per week for 8-12 weeks, based on the person’s availability.

Students will:
- apply technical and data skills in a professional context
- contribute ideas for making the Piper Center even more effective get to know the professional staff of the Piper Center
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a variety of project-related communications, data management, content creation, research and information gathering, and organization
- Greet visitors and answer phones at the front desk
- Perform duties related to the general operations of the Center
- Perform benchmarking against other leading career centers to determine best practices
- Perform data management and analysis (depending on skills and interests of the student)
- Approve jobs and employers on Handshake
- Contribute to office organization Contribute ideas that help the Piper Center improve its operations and serve students
* This position is expected to work 4-6 hours per day , not exceeding 20-25 hours a week.
All work will be completed in-person in the Piper Center office.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and to collaborate effectively with staff
- Familiarity with Piper Center events and resources is strongly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Flexibility and desire to work in a fluid environment, assisting where needed Positive attitude and interest in the Piper Center’s programs and resources
