Job Overview
We are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team.
Duties
- Assist the veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and dentistry.
- Conduct in house laboratory tests using IDEXX in house lab machines or SNAP tests, perform urinalysis, cytology and fecal parasite screenings.
- Obtain blood samples from cats and dogs.
- Place intravenous catheters.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medical conditions.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatment. Fear Free or low-stress handling required.
- Acquire high quality radiographs
- Prepare prescription medications.
- Communicate with clients via email, phone and text. Provide office support, scheduling and process payments.
- Clean and maintain medical / surgical equipment and facilities.
- Contribute to positive workplace culture and engage in team development.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine or recent veterinary technician graduate
- Positive attitude and a willingness to help.
- A compassionate approach to working with animals and their owners is essential.
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is highly desirable but not required.
