What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at St Pete Buckets Inc?
· Identify the general mechanical failure based on customer concern and testing; diagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systems for aerial units and light duty vehicles
· Perform a thorough physical and operational inspection of each vehicle before and after to identify/correct any issues.
· Ability to perform mechanical repairs on equipment as needed; restore equipment to working order through component replacement and/or repair
· Complete the appropriate repairs in the safest and most efficient manner and testing the equipment to ensure it is working properly
· Process all necessary paperwork at the completion of each job, ensuring all parts are accounted for, time is properly documented, and each repair is itemized
· Follow operational repair procedures/policies implemented by management to include following directions given to you by management team
· Ability to ID and properly use basic hand tools. Have some of the basic tools needed to perform the job.
· Mechanical ability to work/troubleshoot problems and repairs in electrical systems of 12vdc and 120vac, hydraulic systems, and general mechanical work on a variety of fleet vehicles
· On-the-job training provided
Desired Skills/Requirements:
· Proven experience in a mechanical field (1-3 years)
· Experience working with hydraulic systems preferred, but not required
· Ability to accurately inspect/ troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems
· Read, write, and communicate in English
· Ensures necessary tasks are done in a safe manner
· Ability to follow directions along with willingness to learn
· Ability to ID and properly use basic hand tools
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
· Technical school training in hydraulics/electrical/automotive repair is a plus but not a requirement
· Comfortable using Microsoft office and email platforms
· Able to work independently or part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
