Machine Operator Assistant Trainee

We are looking for a Machine Operator Assistant Trainee to learn how to set up, maintain and operate machinery in a corrugated box manufacturing plant. Machinery includes; slitter/scorer, bandsaws, printer slotters, die cutters, etc. You will learn to set up and assist operator for an efficient running of production jobs. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Must have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines according to factory drawings to start a production job
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed, pressure, )
• Feed raw material to semi-automated machines
• Inspect final product to ensure dimensions, print is correct
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Maintain activity logs

Skills

• be able to read a tape measure
• General Understanding of production procedures
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina and strength (able to lift 50 lbs)
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
• A bilingual speaker is a plus. (English Spanish)'
