What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant for growing firm position at St. Petersburg CPA Firm?
Fast growing local tax firm in Tax in St. Petersburg has an immediate opening for a part time experienced tax accountant to add to our staff of 7 to prepare individual, corporate, and some partnership tax returns. Experience with Ultratax for corporate/partnerships, Accounting CS/CSA, Drake for 1040 prep is preferred but if you really know tax prep and feel you can learn our software we're flexible on that. Position will include compiling client data or using client prepared financials, creating work papers to support tax returns. Must be flexible and enjoy working with diverse clients.
Minimum of 2 years of tax and accounting experience preparing tax returns.. Compensation based on experience. Knowledge of payroll, QuickBooks skills, Excel, Word and an EA certificate a plus for this position. The ideal person really has a thorough understanding of accounting so that they may make any adjustments needed to client data to prepare their business tax returns, that's why they hire us. Our workpapers verify the balance sheet accounts and certain income and expense accounts. Since many clients use QuickBooks for their businesses it is very useful to understand it and mistakes they could be making.
Candidate should be detail and deadline oriented and have excellent computer skills. Must be willing to learn our systems.
Potential for more hours/more permanent position depending on ability but starting as part time and temporary through at least tax season but possibly more if desired. Hours are flexible but we'd like something consistent and at least 24 hours a week.
