What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prescription Health Program Coordinator position at St Petersburg Free Clinic Inc?
The PHP Coordinator will work to promote health equity and ensure that activities/services are aligned with the SPFC’s vision, mission, programs, and values to promote health and access for all. The purpose of the PHP Coordinator is to assist and navigate patients through the process of obtaining necessary and life-saving pharmaceuticals. This position serves as the primary liaison between Pharmaceutical Companies and the Health Center.
Schedule
40 Hours Per Week
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Ability to work monthly night and Saturday clinics in accordance with program needs.

Position Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patient/client questions and guidance on the Prescription Health Program.
- Serves and advocates for SPFC patients and clients throughout the community.
- Advocate for patient/client medication and durable medical equipment needs.
- Review prescription drug needs of potential PHP applicants to determine eligibility and conduct patient intake processes to obtain information necessary to submit PHP applications.
- Obtain and ensure completion of PHP application forms along with required documentation to submit for eligibility.
- Maintain inventory of medications ordered for in-house medication room.
- Assist the organization of medications, including the removal of expired medications from the medication room and other entities, according to established guidelines.
- Compile weekly lists of requested medications or medications that are low in inventory.
- Assist supervisor in ordering medications and understand ordering process through our vendors.
- Track and sign out medications ordered by providers and refills requested by eligible patients and input into inventory.
- Call patient medications/refills into pharmacies under the providers supervision and request.
- Track and maintain Patient Assistance Program At-Home and In-House Patient list.
- Log incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals appropriately for each patient.
- Distribute medication to patients timely upon arrival.
- Maintain use and required updates of MedNet, PAP Rx Tracker, and eClinical Works (eCW) software.
- Assist in the transition of the program to Prime Rx.
- Patient education on proper medication handling, i.e. product temperature sensitivity.
- Train and utilize Prime Rx Pharmaceutical Management software.
- Develop and update PHP Policy and Procedure Manual, alongside the supervisor.
- Liaise with Pharmaceutical Companies, MedNet, Prime Rx, and PAP Rx Tracker to confirm receipt of applications, discuss potential issues and follow-up on outcomes with applicants.
- Maintains data for monthly and special reports to support documentation of health center activity and grant reports.
- Oversee and maintain applications, refills, inventory, distribution, storage and labeling of medications received.
- Participated in software and program evaluation activities for MedNet and PAP Rx Tracker.
- Work closely with PHP colleagues and Health Center staff and volunteers.
- Assist supervisor in managing and assisting PHP volunteers.
- Support staff and volunteers with the Health Center’s satellite locations.
- Helps supervisor maintain pharmaceutical partnerships.
- Participate in Health Center and agency-wide activities and community events to foster program growth and culture.
- Performs other PHP and clinic duties as needed.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum education level: High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Preferred experience with Pharmacy, Pharmaceuticals or functions of a Health Center.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
