Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and acute care practices, along with excellent patient service skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication management.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary.
- Document medication administration and patient interactions accurately in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support IV infusion preparation and administration as required.
- Performs monthly medication room inspections.
- Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.
Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmacy practice.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and acute care protocols is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations, including medication storage, labeling, and dispensing processes.
