What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager-CARE Center position at St. Vincent de Paul CARES?

SUMMARY: The Manager is responsible to assist in the overall CARE Center operations of the 401 15th Street, North. Primary responsibility is for the Night Shelter and VA security. The Shelter is open 9 PM to 6 AM, 365-nights a year, for up to 70 homeless men and women who sleep in the Food Center dining area-turned "dormitory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. - Supervise the Day Center, Shelter, POD, and VA Security staff and assist them in carrying out their duties
- Assist with supervision of Client Volunteer Program including reporting and structuring
- Arrange for various training classes for Pinellas Homeless Management Information System (PHMIS) that tracks relevant client data used to generate reports to the City and County and is also shared with other agencies serving the homeless
- Responsible for all reporting of 401 15th Street, N., St. Petersburg
- Responsible for organization and filing of all back-up materials
- Arrange for training classes in coordination with Training Coordinator
- Ensure that all PHMIS-related demographic information is accurately imputed on a daily basis and that new clients complete an intake folder with staff
- Submit employee time trough Paylocity to Human Resources after checking them for accuracy
- Make certain that all CARE Center equipment is in working order and that supplies, including mats and blankets, are clean, available and in good condition, and report needs to Supervisor
- Maintain a safe, clean, sober, drug-free environment and respond to emergencies by immediately contacting 911 and/or the St. Petersburg Police Department
- Accept referrals from St. Petersburg Homeless Outreach Team if space is available
- See that the security staff keeps a daily log that documents the activities of each shift
- Monitor internal critical incidents and assist in follow-ups
- Attend and schedule mandatory staff meetings
- Actively participate in the PQI System
- Recruit, hire, train and evaluate CARE Center personnel
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all applicable training requirements
- Comply with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures
- Comply with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs
- Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team
- Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the St. Vincent de Paul CARES Mission

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Chief Operating Officer, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications)
- This position requires bachelor’s in social work or equivalent
- Minimum 2-years’ experience working with the homeless population
- Excellent computer skills
