Facilities Support Specialist

 

St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) has served residents of greater Cincinnati for over 150 years with basic needs such as food, medicine, and homelessness prevention through its outreach center in the West End and through fifty-six parish-based volunteer Conferences (chapters). • Keep facilities clean and orderly, including regular cleaning and maintenance of restrooms.
• Ensure bathrooms are stocked with necessary supplies throughout the day.
• Handle spills and other cleaning emergencies promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and address minor repair issues.
• Work with the current maintenance company to enter and track maintenance tickets.
• Inform Rumpke & Republic when dumpsters need to be picked up.
• Clear donation bins regularly to ensure they are tidy and accessible.
• Clean windows to maintain a welcoming and professional appearance.
• Assist in monitoring the building for any issues that need to be addressed, such as maintenance or safety concerns.
• Track cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment and notify the appropriate person when supplies need to be reordered.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any hazards.
• Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance and repair services as needed.
• If required, assist in emergencies, such as evacuations.

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events with SVDP event staff, ensuring all equipment and spaces are prepared as needed.
• Support distribution activities and other logistical tasks during events.
• Keep track of event supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is in good condition and ready for use.
• Conduct safety checks before and after events to ensure safe equipment and spaces.
• Work with external vendors to arrange for event-related services and equipment.
• Be prepared to assist in any emergencies that may arise during events.

• Serve as a backup in the Clothing Home Resource Center (CHRC) when needed, assisting with various tasks.

• Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall functionality of the facility.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to use basic computer programs for tracking maintenance tickets and inventory.
• Having a first aid certification would be beneficial for handling minor injuries or emergencies.
• Strong customer service skills to interact with staff, volunteers, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

• Ability to walk, stand, and bend for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
