The focus is on preventing homelessness, fighting hunger, and improving health. Programs include housing, utility assistance, food recovery and distribution, and prescription fulfillment through an onsite pharmacy. Services are provided through the headquarters’ (Council) facility, 74 Conferences (parish-based chapters) and 9 Thrift Stores.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Information Technology Support Specialist is primarily responsible for overseeing IT systems and assets, assisting with upgrades and fixes, and providing training and support as needed. In addition, this position provides technical assistance, support, administration, and development for SVdP’s primary case management database, CMS, the telephony systems and other information technology needs as assigned. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, network maintenance, and industry trends to keep us on the cutting edge.
Job Responsibilities:
- Configure, install and maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, printers, Audio/Visual equipment, software and hardware
- Serve as the subject-matter expert supporting Windows, and widely used software and applications, such as the Microsoft suite of products, including SharePoint, Adobe databases
- Provide support for internal business applications including Client Management System
- Maintain inventory of assets. Purchase and retire additional equipment as needed.
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and system improvements
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Set up accounts for new users
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
- Serve as a liaison between organization and technology vendors including software, hardware, security
- Analyze staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and 2 years of helpdesk work experience
- CompTIA A , CompTIA Network, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or other information technology certifications strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools
- Problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer support skills
- Strong customer support skills
- Possess attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and organize priorities, while maintaining a high level of focus and accuracy.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfortable working in a Catholic based, mission driven organization
- Able to lift at least 30 pounds.

This position works in an in-person office environment, Monday - Friday during normal business hours. He/She may be required to be available on nights and weekends for meetings and other special events.
