What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Sorter position at St. Vincent de Paul?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Sorter takes pride in recognizing and providing the high quality second-hand items that create an enjoyable experience at our Thrift Stores. At St Vincent de Paul North Idaho, our thrift stores help fund our social services – including our emergency shelters, Father Bills Kitchen, and free shower and laundry facilities. You will play an important role by sorting donated goods to be sold to support our mission to provide direction and services supporting individuals and families in North Idaho needing assistance to enrich, fortify, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Take clothing out of bailer buggies when they are full and bale the clothing
- Stack bales using forklift
- Help maintain forklift by checking fluids weekly
- Unload the incoming trucks when needed
- Sort shoes and clothing as needed
- Keeping the warehouse and work area clean and picked up
- Light maintenance work
- Other duties as assigned, assist other departments as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Forklift certified strongly preferred
- Maintenance experience preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to bend, lift 50 lbs, and stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.

Stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, heavy work (exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally), reading detail work confidently, confidentiality, problem solving, training, math, reasoning, verbal communications, written communication, effective listening, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, interruptions.
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Exposed to adverse environmental conditions depending on the season
