What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Assistant position at St. Vincent’s Health System?
- Department General Radiology
- Schedule 7 on 7 off Wed-Tues 300pm - 1100pm
- Hospital UAB St. Vincent's Blount

- Arrange and store incoming records according to procedure/protocol.
- Find, research and answer questions about records and files from authorized users.
- Purge materials according to file maintenance guidelines and/or legal requirements.
- Perform periodic inspections of materials or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition.
- Release information from medical records in response to properly authorized requests. Follow all regulations regarding the release of health information whose confidentiality is protected by state and federal laws.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
