Business Development Specialist – Stabilus Industrial
Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. Our products can be used in a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and office chair manufacturing industries, furniture technology, solar industry, medical technology, and many other industrial applications. This position will be located at our U.S. Headquarters in Gastonia, NC. This is an entry-level position with the opportunity to learn about industrial sales and to grow within our sales organization.
Objectives
For markets not covered by Market Segment Managers, the employee should:
- Analyze a specific segment or application size & Sales potential for Stabilus Industrial Americas
- Develop a competitive landscape for new products and market pricing
- Create a value-added offer to support sales/marketing activities
- Develop a segment specific product portfolio, including the content for the different marketing platform (brochure, white papers, training material), with the support from Engineering and Marketing
- Be present at trade shows
- Build or create a network in new target segment contacts
- Create custom target lists for identified expansion industries, and set-up calls with the local sales team
- Provide quarterly updates to Sales Management of target industries and action taken or needed to fulfill growth plan
- Creates and maintains a database in CRM of territory activities and information and provides timely and detailed responses to requests from management
- Maintains awareness of competitive activities and products. Communicates all relevant data to Marketing Services and Sales Management
- When applicable, inform other brands Product Manager of opportunities in specific segment
For markets covered by Market Segment Managers, the employee should:
- Support the Market Segment Managers with the above-mentioned tasks as required.
Education, Training, Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, an MBA would be a plus
Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to move forward multiple projects within a team environment
- Experience in strategy development and execution
- Identifying markets and prospects, understand/assess needs, prioritize/target, analyze/solve, communicate (listen, persuade, present, negotiate), maintain/service, and expand target sectors
- Previous commercial sales experience a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively listen to customer’s needs, present information and respond to questions from groups.
- Spanish language skills would be a plus
Travel Requirements
- At least 50% of the time including overnight travel

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
