THE POSITION:
The Manager of Technical Operations supports all data centers across the portfolio with a focus on the Central region, including the Chicago, Dallas Fort Worth, and New Albany market. As a key player in STACK’s Critical Operations team, the Manager of Technical Operations is responsible for developing and supporting critical programs that drive productivity and efficiency in field operations (effectively known at STACK as the “Playbook”). The MTO is also focused on implementation of programs related to Safety, Team, Availability, Communication, and Knowledge. The Manager of Technical Operations reports to the Director of Technical Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement standardized culture of always working safely across all STACK data centers.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and experience in electrical and mechanical support systems, telecom, and cabling to include power distribution systems, emergency power, UPS systems, HVAC, and fire alarm and suppression systems.
- Subject matter expert on procedures, safety, training, and data center critical functions.
- Lead Critical Operations Drills.
- Responsibilities will include ensuring that operational, maintenance and emergency Methods of Procedures (MOP’s) are developed, reviewed, and audited through all stages of the maintenance process for electrical, mechanical, communications, safety, and security support equipment.
- Will mentor and provide training for personnel in the planning, scheduling and completion of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance.
- Participate in root cause analysis process and deep dive into abnormal occurrences within the data center.
- Provide user support and training for key field operations tools and processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving process and system issues that inhibit field operations productivity.
- Taking on other duties as required by STACK. Job duties, roles, and responsibilities are subject to change over time.

THE DETAILS:
- Location: Eligible locations include STACK Americas data center sites in Chicago (CHI) or Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW).
- Travel: Nominally 25%, up to 50%
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working on and developing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a data center or other related mission critical operations role.
- Knowledge of data center (hyper scale, enterprise, and colocation), and telecommunications industries.
- Experience working with various Microsoft office applications and other database housing software.
- Experience working on and developing Data Center Infrastructure Management Systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to see at close range.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.
- Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
