Day (United States of America) Financial Services Representative - Care at Home The Financial Services Representative is responsible for reviewing incoming referrals from the hospital/outside referral sources and obtaining patient insurance information. This person will be responsible for verifying patient benefits for home health care services. They will be responsible for obtaining initial authorization and maintaining ongoing authorization as needed. This individual will be cross trained to cover the intake/scheduler positions and will assist with incoming phone calls to the agency. - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. - One to three years’ experience in health care or home health setting. - Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Completes insurance/physician verification per regulations. - Work with Patient Care Coordinator and Schedule to facilitate the start of the patients’ record. - Verify patients’ home health care benefits with the appropriate carrier. - Obtain insurance benefits from commercial payers and authorizations as needed by payer and track due dates accordingly. - Work with medical records to obtain all necessary documentation for additional authorization requests. - Participate in the afterhours on-call rotation. - Other duties as assigned.
