Variable (United States of America) Patient Charge Coordinator- Surgical Services The Patient Charge Coordinator will organize and coordinate daily operations of the department. Maintain patient charts and charges in accordance with HIPAA and other standards. Ensures charges and charts are done in a timely and thorough manner. Schedules elective surgery. Notifies appropriate departments of pertinent information involving equipment or staff to ensure a smooth flow of the daily schedule. Work closely with physicians, their office staff, the department of anesthesiology, OR Manager and other related departments. - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required ; CST certification/experience preferred - Proficient computer skills - Good communication skills, organizational skills and ability to work under stress - Needs to be self-directed and have excellent people skills - Schedules all elective OR cases and procedures - Maintains open lines of communication - Acts as a liaison between the OR, Physician Offices and other departments - Relays pertinent information relating to patient care, staffing and anesthesia - Solves problems and utilizes appropriate resources to maintain harmonious relationships between physician's, office staff and the OR - Maintains chart accuracy, charges, and charge reconciliation for all locations We're glad you're here.
