Essential Functions
Responsible for day-to-day operation of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, autorouting, and prefetching and other related activities. Works closely with department managers to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling.
Responsible for reviewing work schedules and assigning tasks to Imaging systems’ Support Staff, as well as completion of all performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Works closely with the Director of MIS, in the development of operating standards, policies, and procedures for the Imaging IT systems.
Works closely with the Director of Clinical Informatics, regarding the information transfer from the Radiology Information Systems to the clinic EMR.
Reviews feedback from customers, compiles and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural, staffing, and educational changes as appropriate.
Works closely with members of Radiology to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes, which include further integration into operations for the Imaging informatics.
Responsible for the direct support of the clinic Radiology Providers, area managers, support staff and administration to oversee and coordinate strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives.
Responsible for Imaging IT support of clinical areas including, but not limited to, Cardiology, OB / GYN, Orthopedics, Cancer Center and any other clinical areas utilizing Imaging Studies or have the responsibility for finalizing studies.
Collaborate with MIS department at Lakeland Regional Hospital and BRH. Attend regular meetings with these business partners when scheduled.
Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems. Manages all Imaging Department projects, to include planning, coordinating, and implementing all upgrades, updates, break / fixes, and other requests following all Clinical and MIS Department guidelines.
Prepares reports for management on all aspects of medical imaging systems as appropriate or directed.
Follows all Clinic guidelines / policies and procedures for business continuity and security of Imaging systems.
Responsible for reporting Imaging System issues or outages as specified in clinic policy. To include timely reporting to end users through Do Not Reply email procedure.
Responsible for reporting all possible breaches, intrusions, or suspicious activity on the Imaging System to the Director of MIS as soon as possible. Coordinate with the Director of MIS regarding immediate responses to any suspicious activity on the Imaging Systems.
Attends and participates in departmental / clinic meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
Performs other functions as required and / or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
Responsible for management of Imaging systems’ support personnel.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

MSMHIT medical professional who specializes in nuclear medicine
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or any other health related discipline required. Four or more years of related experience in healthcare project management.
Minimum five years of experience managing / maintaining PACs / RIS hardware / software.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree in information technology or any other health related discipline preferred.
Philips or GE PACs system experience preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Excellent written / oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
