We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Staff Management | SMX. The successful candidate will work in New Iberia, LA, and be responsible for repairing and maintaining surface equipment.

- The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of electric and gas welding, blacksmithing, rigging, electricity, pipe fitting, hydraulics, machine tool setup and operation, diesel or other internal combustion engines, sheet metal layout and working, heavy and light machinery repair, construction, maintenance and installation, etc.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment and apply best practices to successfully repair and maintain surface equipment.
Job Requirements:
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Normally requires (2) to (3) years of general shop experience and training to qualify, or through the training program.
- On-the-job experience.
- Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management.
- Background in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
- Ability to use print manuals.
- Understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
- Steel-toed shoes required.
