Our Client creates and inspects new technologies for sterile barrier packaging requirements. They support various industries including pharmaceutical, biotech, medical, food and beverage, bottles and containers. They have two locations one here in Hawthorne, NY and one in Switzerland. They have 65 employees across both firms. They are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to add to their engineering team that includes 15 others. This particular role requires someone with product development / R&D experience.

Responsibilities :
PTI is an equipment manufacturer that engages in both standard bench-top inspection solutions as well as large scale custom automated systems.
The primary focus of the position is to ensure the measurement accuracy of the system, reliable operation through controls systems design, and developing efficient user interactions with the equipment through HMI's and other graphical means.
The employee will be responsible for designing, selecting, and implementing components and developing the logic for PTI's proprietary technologies.
The position will be responsible for programming, documenting, training and release testing of finalized technologies to the various industries PTI supports.
Some travel, both domestic and international, is expected.
Qualifications :
2 years of job experience as a controls engineer.
Must have legal permission to work in the U.S. and have a valid passport.
PLC & HMI programming "from scratch" capability and debugging other's code on Beckhoff Control Systems.
Programming robots and / or vision systems.
Designing control systems.
Experience with selecting and integrating sensors and actuators into the controls architecture.
Expertise in using various communication protocols to integrate / network between controls systems.
Experience with project releases, installation and commissioning.
Has in field experience installing and debugging a few PLC systems.
Is comfortable reading and debugging electrical schematics and panels.
Working well with a team of controls engineers and / or mentoring.
Has basic mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge as it applies to controls engineering
