A local well-established public accounting firm is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst. The Senior Tax Analyst plays a pivotal role in the tax services team, offering expert tax preparation and consulting to a variety of clients. This position is responsible for managing complex tax engagements, providing strategic tax planning, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations, a knack for problem-solving, and a desire to contribute to the ongoing success and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and review highly complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Deliver timely, high-quality client service, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax matters
- Make adjusting journal entries and complete trial balances for business tax returns
- Analyze financial information to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax returns
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues, providing well-documented conclusions
- Stay updated on pertinent Internal Revenue Codes, regulations, and changes in tax law
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- Mentor and train junior staff accountants, providing guidance on tax preparation and client management
- Review workpapers and tax returns prepared by junior staff, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial services
- Participate in business development activities, including networking and client meetings
- Perform additional accounting functions and special projects as needed
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
- Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred
- CPA certification or demonstrated progress toward obtaining CPA certification is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and planning
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex tax concepts to clients
- Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
What You Can Expect
- $80,000 - $115,000/yr – depending on experience
- Schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
