Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join the team of a rehab facility in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care. The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective treatment plans and therapeutic exercises.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized care plans for patients.
• Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Skills

• Strong background in Patient Care with a focus on empathy and support.
• Solid understanding of Physiology to effectively assist in rehabilitation processes.
• Experience in both Outpatient and Inpatient settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with Physical Therapy practices, including therapeutic modalities and exercises.
• Ability to work in Home Health environments, providing care in patients' residences.
• Understanding of Acute Care procedures for patients requiring immediate attention.
• Competence in developing and following Care Plans tailored to individual patient needs.
