Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Multifamily Construction Director to oversee the success of our commercial and multifamily construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management and be able to provide effective leadership and direction to our team.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Represent the company effectively with architects, engineers, inspectors, municipalities, financial institutions, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance in collaboration with accounting.
- Prepare and manage construction documents (budgets, estimates, proposals, contracts, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, schedules, buyouts, change orders).
- Identify potential risks, issues, and challenges, developing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect progress and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Lead and direct teams, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Stay updated on market research, industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications & Experience
To perform this job successfully, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in multifamily/commercial construction project management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Collaborative spirit, self-starter attitude, and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems relevant to construction management.
