Electrical Engineer II

Job Summary:
Responsible for design, development and testing of electronic hardware/analog and digital circuits from product specifications. Applies sound mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Provides good .judgement and analysis, and conducts research to produce cost effective, robust and current design solutions, improvements, and new products. Supports the production of existing product lines. Develops test specifications and procedures, and designs necessary PCB/PCA test fixtures for new and existing products. Provides technical support to external and internal customers and suppliers. . A high degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected. Highly familiar with the field's concepts, best practices and Procedures. Performs physical, electrical and/or environmental testing on assemblies. Maintains and cares for engineering equipment and tools. Assists with engineering documentation as directed.
Requirements:
Actively participates in preparing and providing engineering input for ECOs.
Create and maintain Engineering records of all major revisions to electro-mechanical assemblies and key parts.
Maintain, in good working condition, all test and calibration equipment.
Performs all other duties as assigned or directed.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from accredited institution
Responsibilities:
Design, create and perform tests on electronic and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and complete products.
Selects appropriate components, including microprocessors, carefully considering cost, life, and
durability.
Write firmware/code for designs where needed.
Design, fabricate, test, and debug breadboards and models for new or modified products.
Design and fabricate test fixtures for all phases of development and production.
Maintains design history notes and filing for all work carried out and for test results.
Designs electrical assemblies, prototypes and hardware to meet product specifications as assigned.
Validates manufacturer and vendor specifications for components and devices.
validate approved modifications to existing designs.
Conduct failure analysis for non-conforming components either in development or production.
Provide repair and recovery processes for non-conforming components in production.
Research and modify calibration and assembly procedures with MS Word and MS Excel to reflect approved changes.
Research bill of materials using the Company's ERP system and prepare markup for approved changes.
Prepare markup and implement changes to schematics designs using Altium Designer or equivalent
Design and write software for testing and validation of assemblies in test utilizing a variety of languages and platforms. (e.g. MS Windows, LabVlEW, Lab Windows, MS Excel, BASIC and 3rd party applications)
Responsible for approved design activities and deadlines as defined in the project statement of work.

Strong organizational skills
Strong record keeping skills
Detail Oriented
Highly skilled in reading schematics, specification sheets, and mechanical drawings
Strong electronic and electro-mechanical laboratory and trouble shooting skills
Strong knowledge of electronic components and instruments
Ability to install and operate with 3rd party PC control applications
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work on a cross-functional basis with all levels of personnel
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to make independent judgment and work with minimal supervision
Proficiency in PCB design software packages o Altium or equivalent
Design knowledge of creating circuits that meet EMI/RFt/ESD standards compliance
