Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Department Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by vocational/technical training in office practices.

: Three years of increasingly responsible clerical, secretarial, and routine administrative support experience.

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Experience working in the government sector, specifically with public board meetings
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Advanced ability using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Thrives working on a team
  • Experience applying The Brown Act a plus, but not required

Example of Duties:

  • Prepares meeting packets by reviewing all contents of packets to ensure information is complete and accurate
  • Prepares meeting notifications
  • Oversees and updates on the website to ensure information is current
  • Prepares and processes the payroll, communication, and mileage reimbursement for staff.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
