Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Department Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by vocational/technical training in office practices.
: Three years of increasingly responsible clerical, secretarial, and routine administrative support experience.
Ideal Candidates will have:
- Experience working in the government sector, specifically with public board meetings
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Advanced ability using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Thrives working on a team
- Experience applying The Brown Act a plus, but not required
Example of Duties:
- Prepares meeting packets by reviewing all contents of packets to ensure information is complete and accurate
- Prepares meeting notifications
- Oversees and updates on the website to ensure information is current
- Prepares and processes the payroll, communication, and mileage reimbursement for staff.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
