Responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of the Staff Development programs including but not limited to the orientation of all licensed, certified, registered, support nursing employees, along with all other employees of the facility. Will be required to assist with mandatory in-service programs for all staff, and the development and implementation and education of nursing policy and procedures as directed. The RN Educator will help to foster employee retention and recognition activities in the nursing department. The RN Educator will work closely with Staff Development, Human Resources, Department Managers and Nursing Administration to maintain and improve current workforce of in particular nursing staff with emphasis on daily operations of the nursing department and quality of care provided by all facility employees.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- tMust be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners with 3-5 years of long term care experience.
- tMust currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners in good standings.
- tMust be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures.
- tMust be knowledgeable of all legal regulations, guidelines and best practices that pertain to long-term care.
- tMust act as a role model for nursing assistants, licensed staff, and other personnel.
- tMust be capable of using technology for the use of education (power point development, webex trainings, use of projectors, etc.)
- tMust possess an aptitude for problem solving.
- tEmployment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-placement physical.
