Salary : $45,000 - $75,000 / yr. (Based on experience)
Schedule : 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm, Monday - Friday
Shipping Manager essential tasks :
- Oversee Shipping Department workflow, maintain schedules, and hold daily meetings with key staff to ensure clarity, consistency, and task completion.
- Train and monitor employees on shipping procedures, processes, and workflows, while assisting in hiring and structuring training programs for new team members.
- Coordinate departmental activities, including material setup, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and inspections, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with standards.
- Prepare and analyze reports for upper management, resolve shipping or transportation issues, and implement customer-specific requirements or metrics.
- Collaborate with departments like Sales, Project Management, and Manufacturing to integrate shipping with business systems and processes.
- Manage carrier relationships, including selection, evaluation, and rate negotiation, while ensuring compliance with export regulations and legal requirements.
- Direct outbound shipping operations, analyze financial impacts of shipping changes, and communicate transportation information to improve service efficiency and quality.
Qualifications : Minimum of three years in similar managerial position, minimum of five years in shipping capacity, working knowledge of domestic and international shipping, knowledge of FedEx and UPS.
