Job Description
Performs intermediate semiskilled/skilled work organizing and instructing Water Aerobics Classes; Provides water aerobics instruction, monitors, and educates patrons on fitness and safety, maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants. Does related work as required.
The hiring range for this position is from $17.42/hour to $21.78/hour based on experience.
Examples of Duties
- Organizes and instructs various water aerobics classes;
- Maintains records, statistics;
- Assists Aquatics Supervisor/Pool Managers in scheduling classes;
- Demonstrates and instructs various water aerobics classes;
- Coordinates activities and demonstrations;
- Organizes and implements program activities;
- Schedules and registers participants;
- Prepares and communicates program information to the public, participants and staff;
- Supervises a variety of skill and age level of class participants;
- Completes all required records and reports on a daily basis;
- Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflicts and complaints;
- Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, practices, techniques, and equipment needed to teach water aerobics;
- Some knowledge of aquatic area operations and safety preferred;
- Ability to deal with program participants;
- Ability to execute sound judgment.
Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent and certification in land or water aerobics.
