We’re an English Language school, hosted by our state-of-the-art CATS Academy Boston high school located in Braintree, MA.
Our Study Holidays welcome groups of young students (aged 10-18) from overseas. During their stay, they’re immersed into learning with a fun and dynamic academic and activity program, as we believe that the best learning isn’t just in the classroom. That’s where you come in.
As our Student Activities Manager, you will work closely with your team and other managers, having responsibility over the fun and varied student activities & excursions schedule. The dates of employment for this role are 06/04/25 to 08/08/25.
Here's some of what an Activities Manager does:
- You will be taking overall responsibility for planning and delivery of the smooth-running of our activities, events, and excursions program, based around Boston and New England
- Building great working relationships with the management and wider team, to provide our students with the safest and most enjoyable experience
- Playing an active role in the pastoral care of students, including night-duties on a scheduled basis
- Play an active role in the induction, ongoing support and training of Activity Leaders, Senior Activity Leaders and Teachers
- Managing, motivating and briefing the activity team and oversee their designated tasks, reporting to the Director of Studies
- Budgeting for events and activities
- Be responsible for answering student emergency phones during off-hours if necessary. This duty is rotated amongst the management team.
- Working 6 days per week - as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position

Some of what you’ll need to join Stafford House Study Holidays as a Student Activities Manager:
- Previous experience of running and activity/leisure program or similar is essential (preferably in a summer/school setting) would be advantageous
- Be a great communicator with a good level of spoken and written English
- Flexible schedule; sometimes working evenings or weekends
- The ability to perform residential duties
- Be a supportive leader, able to effectively manage your team, ensuring the happiness, safety and well-being of staff and students alike
- Have the legal ability to work in the United States
- Familiarity with the Boston/New England area would be beneficial
- You must be professional and friendly. Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it very seriously
