Primary Purpose:
Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus-level operations. Assist the principal to ensure high standards of student performance in a safe learning environment that supports delivery of the approved curricula and meets the mission and vision of the campus/district. Coordinate assigned student activities and services. Actively promote the improvement of instruction by fostering a positive school/organizational climate where all students can learn and be successful. Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
· Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification (Required)
· Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) certificate or its equivalent Instructional Leadership
· Development (ILD or ILT) or must be obtained within 3 months
· Board Approved T-TESS Certification or must be obtained with 2 months of start date

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Leadership and School/Student Management
1. Provide instructional leadership for the campus including analyzing data and developing plans to increase student achievement with the principal
2. Assist with the coordination and implementation of the District approved curriculum in all content areas
3. Participate in developing the Campus Improvement Plan and assist with the curriculum-related activities such as program development and evaluation.
4. Analyze available data for the development and implementation of campus specific staff development.
5. Supervise operations in the Principal’s absence.
6. Assist with safety inspections, safety drills, and other safety-related activities.
7. Assist in the development of the master schedule and allocation of resources.
8. Lead in monitoring the instructional program and determining its appropriateness
9. Regularly consult the Superintendent and other executive cabinet staff about planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of campus education program.
10. Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
11. Participate in developing the Campus Improvement Plan and assist with curriculum-related activities (i.e. program development and evaluation).
12. Demonstrate thorough understanding of state and federal accountability systems.
13. Direct the development and implementation of campus specific staff development.
14. Ensure school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
15. Monitor student behavior, enforce discipline rules, and devise systems to support positive student behavior.
16. Coordinate and maintain a system for tracking student attendance and tardiness by enforcing district attendance policies.
17. Assist with analyzing and using student performance data to provide focus and precision to instructional goal setting, campus planning, and professional development opportunities.
18. Assist the principal with ensuring appropriate distance or virtual instruction in the academic subject area is assigned to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

28. Identify, analyze, and apply research findings (e.g., effective school correlates) to promote school improvement.
29. Conducts faculty meetings.
30. Budget school time to provide for the efficient conduct of school instruction and business.
31. Develop and set annual campus performance objectives for each of the Academic Excellence Indicators using the campus planning process and site-based decision-making committee.
32. Develop, maintain, and use information systems and records necessary to show campus progress on performance objectives addressing each Federal and State Accountability system.
Personnel Management
33. Assist with interviewing, selecting, evaluating, and growing high quality school staff.
34. Support the principal in defining expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management and communication with the public.
35. Assist the principal with establishing a campus-based interview committee as deemed appropriate, to assist with interviewing staff.
36. Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences with staff.
37. Practice a commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
38. Work with campus-level planning and decision-making committees to plan professional development activities.
39. Assist the principal with ensuring a virtual classroom environment is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions
40. Supervise operations of campus in principal’s absence.
41. Assist the principal with the planning of daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
42. Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations affecting the schools.
43. Perform all technical or procedural responsibilities efficiently and effectively (i.e. textbooks, duties, transportation, substitutes, keys, student activities, records, teacher EOY check-out, etc.).
44. Assist with the coordination and supervision of all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
45. Manage use of school facilities and grounds and coordinate programs associated with student safety to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe learning environment.
46. Work with team leaders/department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented needs.
47. Work with faculty and students to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior and enhances the school climate.
48. Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed, and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
49. Conduct conferences regarding student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including assistant principal, teachers, counselor, librarian aide, instructional aides, and clerical support staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hire, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
