Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Substitute School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services for our students. The ideal candidate will have experience in community health and possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students using professional assessment skills and established school health protocols.
- Serve as a health advocate for students and notify parents of accidents or illnesses.
- Coordinate the administration of medications to students at school.
- Develop and implement effective procedures for mandatory screening programs.
- Participate in the development of campus health education curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding health services issues.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
- Valid nurse license (RN or LVN) to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening.
- CPR Certification.
