MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Cooperatively perform tasks under the supervision of assigned certified professional employees in a variety of instructional settings.
- Provide assistance to teachers and related service personnel in preparing and implementing instructional curriculum, and daily classroom routines.
- Work with individual students and with groups as directed.
- Anticipate the needs of the teacher(s) and students to maximize instructional time on task.
- Assist in testing routines including data collection and criterion-referenced assessments.
- Operate, store, and use educational media, computers and equipment as directed.
- Engage in activities, which promote positive communication and understanding school and community.
- Participate in in-service training workshops as required by the District, principal or designee (i.e. academic instruction, crisis management, compliance training,etc.).
- Appropriately manage students physically, verbally, and non-verbally who may be out of control, working collaboratively with the instructional team.
- Keep data and compile records as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
- Regular Attendance required

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Certification/Minimum Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 48 semester hours of college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university OR meets NCLB requirements for Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals
- Bilingual (preferred)
