An instructor is being sought for an opening in the Health Careers program at Stafford Technical Center. This individual will work with our second-year Health Career students, all licensed LNA’s with the State of Vermont, and we are open to either an individual with experience in the nursing field and/or an individual with a background in teaching science at the high school level.
If applying with a nursing background, responsibilities will include assisting with placing and monitoring student learning in several clinical sites around our region. Applicants should have the credentials needed to teach college-level science courses to our students through the Fast Forward program with the Vermont State University - Randolph and/or Community College of Vermont.
If a candidate has a high school science teaching background, they should have an understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards and the ability to teach multiple science content areas including Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 for our Health Careers program, Biology, and/or Chemistry. Candidates with a background in teaching these courses and experience teaching or working in the health sciences or engineering fields would be ideal. This instructor may work with students from additional Stafford programs as well.
We are seeking a candidate who has a Master’s Degree in either nursing or science. For those with a nursing degree, we would need them to be a licensed Register Nurse in the State of Vermont to assist with supervising clinical rotations at area healthcare facilities. We are looking for an educator who has a proven track record with technology integration and student engagement success.
Stafford Technical Center offers fourteen full-day technical education programs, each of which offers college credits and industry certifications to students as part of their high school education. Students are prepared for higher education and/or entry into business and industry.
